The first three months with your newly adopted dog is often the most challenging part. They need time to decompress and build skills in their new home, as well as learn to trust you as their new human. Ease the transition with programming designed specifically for newly adopted dogs.

Help Your New Friend Adjust with Confidence

Bringing home a dog is SO exciting but we often expect that bringing home a newly adopted dog will be easy. They are already adults and so they should know the basics of how to live in a home, right? Many times, this is not actually the case and our new dog struggles to understand the new environment, routine, and adapt to their new humans. You may be wondering how to go about making friends with this new dog who is so different in your home than they were when you met them at the shelter.

Our adoption transition programming focuses on helping dogs build bridges between their old and new life during the first 3-6 months of their time with you.

We work with you to teach you about the process of adjustment that your dog is going through as well as teach you dog body language, so you can better understand and form a relationship with your new friend.

Focusing on low stress interventions based in enrichment, structure and routine, allows them to decompress and understand what the culture in their new home is like. Increasing predictability and adding known skills helps our dogs feel safe in their new environment, and feeling safe is often the key to success.

Our adoption transition program will set you and your new friend up for a long and happy life together.

Ned's Rescue Adoption Special

We offer a 20% discount for all packages for dogs adopted from a 501(c) within the last 3 months with proof of adoption with a minimum of 3 sessions. This allows for $92/session up to 5 sessions. Packages are valid for 6 months from the day of the 1st session. There is a $25 surcharge added for in home services outside of Hinckley.
